This historic home was built in 1878 for Sanford B. Coulson, manager of the Missouri River Transportation Company. Coulson used the watch tower at the front of the home to monitor the activities on his boats on the Missouri. The massive front doors open on to a central hall with a graceful black walnut staircase. There are walnut thresholds throughout the house. Three Italian marble fireplaces are located in the parlor, dining rooms and one bedroom.

The Captain's Inn has 3 suites available. We offer our guests an elegant/romantic atmosphere in our three luxurious air conditioned rooms.

Room amenities include individual heating and air conditioning, ceiling fans, queen size beds, color TV, private baths, an elegant mix of antique and reproduction furniture, coffee pot in each room. Your stay includes a gourmet breakfast served in one of our formal dining rooms.

The Country French room is decorated in soft shades of blue and yellow. The room has a functional sink placed in an antique commode, along with a seperate stool and shower. $70 per night.

The Victorian Rose design includes historical painting techniques in shades of sage green and rose. The bedroom has a tin cornice and the private bath has a tin ceiling. The private bath has a Jacuzzi tub. $90 per night.

The Italian Renaissance room features a granite stone look on the bottom of the walls, with a suede muslin wall cover. The largest of the three, this room has a sitting area with a fireplace, Jacuzzi tub and jetted shower. $115 per night.

Saturday Brunch 10:30 and Sunday Brunch 11:30. $10.50 includes coffee, tea, juice, muffins, fruit plate and ham quiche. Open to the Public, by reservation.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday dinners available with one day in advance reservations.
